The Noble Laureate Wole Soyinka is a distinguished Nigerian poet, author, and a political activist. His deep interest in writing helped him become the editor of the college magazine and also brought him various prizes. He published a few of his poems in a Nigerian magazine while working for his play ‘The Invention’ which was staged at ‘Royal Court Theatre, London’. He received a fellowship for research on ‘African Theatre’ which helped him return to Nigeria to produce a couple of successful dramas. There he also formed a couple of acting groups called ‘Nineteen-Sixty Masks’ and the ‘Orisun Theatre Company’ where he worked both as a producer and actor.
