William Osler was a famous Canadian physician, and is usually referred to as ‘The Founding Father Of Modern Medicine’. He was also a great bibliophile, author, and historian. During the initial days of his career, he dreamt of being a minister but eventually drifted towards medicine. After completing his post-graduation in medicine he became a professor at the McGill University. He further became the Chairman of Clinical Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and also founded the ‘Association of American Physicians’ which aimed at progressing medical science.
