Frida Kahlo du Rivera, born Magdalena Carmen Frida Kahlo y Calderon, was a Mexican painter. She was afflicted with polio as a child and started her school education a few years later than usual; however she excelled in academics and went on the study at the prestigious National Preparatory School.
